About Waymade Capital
Waymade Capital is the London-based single family office of brothers Vijay and Bhikhu Patel. Born in Kenya, Vijay opened his first pharmacy in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, in 1975, and in 1984 the brothers founded Waymade Healthcare, a pharmaceutical business in Basildon. Vijay founded Amdipharm as a Waymade subsidiary in 2003; private equity firm Cinven acquired a majority stake in it in 2013, after which he set up Atnahs Pharma, now Pharmanovia. Waymade Capital heads the Waymade Group and is built on four pillars: Pharma, Property, Private Equity and Philanthropy. Its philanthropy runs through the Shanta Foundation, established in 2005, which supports health, shelter and education projects in the UK, India and Africa. In private equity it has co-invested alongside institutional partners, including the consortium acquisition of Voyage Care from HgCapital in a £375 million transaction. Third-party estimates put the office's assets around $500 million.
