Friheden Invest is the Copenhagen-based single family office of Danish fashion entrepreneur Niels Martinsen, established in 2001. Its wealth traces to Martinsen's fashion business: Founded in 1969 in Copenhagen, IC Group (then known as InWear) quickly became one of the leading fashion houses in Scandinavia, operating over 11 independent brands, listed on the Danish Stock Exchange. Friheden Invest is a family office founded by the owner and founder of IC Group, one of the largest fashion companies in Scandinavia. Friheden currently owns 66% of IC Group, alongside a number of passive investments. A third-party estimate places assets around $300M. In September 2023 Niels Martinsen transferred 100% of both the ownership and voting rights in Friheden Invest, the parent company of IC Group, to his daughter Emilie Martinsen-Kønigsfeldt, completing the succession of the company.
