1248 Holdings is a single-family office based in Kansas City, United States, formerly known as Bicknell Family Holding Company. It manages the personal and philanthropic assets of the Bicknell family, whose wealth traces to O. Gene Bicknell: an insurance salesman who bought a Pizza Hut restaurant in Pittsburg, Kansas in 1962 and worked at night to grow the business. That venture became NPC International, one of the largest restaurant franchisees and one of the largest restaurant operators of any kind in the United States, operating Pizza Hut and Wendy's units until 2020. Now run by his descendants alongside investment staff, the office makes and manages direct investments in operating businesses, funds, late-stage venture, private equity and real estate. Assets are estimated by a third party at roughly $100 million.
